“Frontier of Terahertz Science” is a joint conference of the Division of Terahertz Spectroscopy of the Spectroscopic Society of Japan (SSJ), and Professional Group on THz Technology of the Japan Society of Applied Physics (JSAP).
Frontier of Terahertz Science will be held during 4th-6th August 2014 and hosted by Femtosecond Spectroscopy Unit at the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology, Graduate University (OIST).

History
In order to provide platforms for deep discussions about terahertz spectroscopy and related topics, SSJ has held symposiums on “Frontier of Terahertz Spectroscopy” every year since 2006, and JSAP has held workshops and summer schools on terahertz science and technologies for young scientists.

Aim
The aims of this symposium are to assemble active scientists in two different societies, to provide the opportunity of cross-cutting discussion on the newest and most exciting research including five international invited speakers and to contribute to the development in terahertz related science and technologies.

Constitution
This international symposium consists invited talks, contributed talks, and poster sessions.“The Best presentation award for young researchers” and “The Best Student Poster Award" will be awarded at the end of the symposium.

OIST
This symposium will be held in collaboration with Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Graduate University (OIST). OIST is the newly built Graduate school for multi- discrepancy research, conducting internationally outstanding education and research in science and technology.

Discussion
This conference will offer a chance for young scientists to touch the cutting edge researches and scientists by promoting a half-day tour “Introduction to OIST”. We are expecting that many people who are interested in THz science will attend the symposium and enjoy discussions, and also hoping that you can have a good time in sightseeing around Okinawa.
